Swine Origin Influenza Hotspot

July 3, news reports that a local victim is confirmed positive in influenza A H1N1 tests, I have read this news in SZNews Net but the linkage sinks. As a common rules we have no detail about this victim on public media, while I have some rumors.

A CDC official declared this informally in a lecture in 2nd July that Health Authority was going to announce this case to the public, as soon as local government permitted. This victim has none relative with foreign voyage or contacts. Actually he's a plainclothes who duty on stopping bus theft.

We healthcare workers know that novel influenza A pandemic is around the community these weeks. I was not infected in SARS but that's a luck, and I am not sure whether my family and I will survive again in swine-origin H1N1. The fact is that 3M N95 mask and Dupont Tyvek are poorly supplied in common hospitals and clinics up to last Friday.

Wash Hands FrequentlyThe disquieting confidence from that CDC official may ease most of the public. "Oseltamivir still works in influenza A confirmed victim," he told us in the lecture, "and drug resistance reported of in Japan is just a single case." Yet all of us work in hospitals clearly know that government have already reserved  Tamiflu in lately April. Who knows anyone of these mayors have intake doses of oseltamivir or amantadine for weeks.

CDC's notice is helpful to Shenzhen residents: Your health is in your hands. Not your government.
